Martinez Juanita M. Died peacefully in Milwaukee, WI, surrounded by her loving family and friends, on Sunday, August 15th at the age of 61. Spirited, generous, active and fun-loving, Juanita brought joy to those around her until her very last day, when liver cancer claimed her final breath. Born on March 4th, 1949 in Tecumseh, Michigan, Juanita is survived by daughter Veronica (Mamadou); granddaughter Tatiana; sisters, Alicia, Josefina (Jose), and Rosa (Ray); and many loving nieces and nephews. Juanita moved to Milwaukee in 1971, after graduating from Eastern Michigan University, to teach at the Vieau Elementary School for 38 years. Juanita was preceded in death by parents Pascual and Maria Martinez and by brother Hicidro Martinez. Passionate in her dedication to family and friends, Juanita remained deeply involved in teaching, sports, family and community life until the end. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 19th from 4 PM until 7 PM at Max A. Sass & Sons funeral home (1515 W. Oklahoma Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53215). The funeral service will commence Friday, August 20th at 11 AM at St. Francis of Assisi (1927 N. 4th St, Milwaukee, WI 53212).
