It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Joyce Nagrocki, who left us peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the age of 77. Joyce gave us years of love through her own no nonsense style, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those who knew and cherished her.
Joyce was the beloved wife of the late Allan P. Nagrocki, with whom she shared 46 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, good food and drink, and countless cherished memories. She was the proud mother of Kristin (Ryan) Skoraczewski, David (Heather) Nagrocki, and Angela (Bryan) Rudie. Loving sister to Julie (the late John) Phelan, Jeanne (Eric) Galles, Jeri (Wayne) Sprague, and Jim (Sandy) Furnish, and a cherished friend to many. Her kindness, wit, and honesty left a lasting mark on all who know and love her.
Born in Milwaukee, WI Joyce lived a rich life of experiences. After secretarial school, she went to work for the Pabst Brewing Company throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s as August Pabst Jr’s personal secretary. Later she worked at Fleet Services and Hallmark, where her organizational talents left a lasting impression.
Joyce had many interests including knitting, bird watching and enjoying many daily puzzle games. A Hallmark enthusiast, she embraced the magic of every season, filling her families’ homes every year with cards and special, now cherished, holiday ornaments. Joyce made sure every family birthday and special event was celebrated in equal measure and that everyone knew how much they meant to her. As a talented knitter, family and friends now have many beautiful gifts and heirlooms to enjoy and remember her by everyday.
Joyce’s grandchildren held a special place in her heart. As “Nan,” she brought endless love and boundless energy to her treasured grandchildren: Owen, Quinn, Jack, Matthew, William, Weston, and Stella, who were her greatest joys.
In honoring her memory, the family invites all who knew Joyce to celebrate her life by finding joy with family and friends and to celebrate with each other all the simple, beautiful moments.
A memorial service will be held to honor Joyce’s loving life. Visitation will be at the Max A. Sass and Sons Mission Hills Chapel on Friday, December 6 from 10-12 noon. Memorial Service at 12 noon. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support they have received during this time.
Joyce may be gone from our sight, but she will forever live in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.
