Joseph Vincent King

August 17, 1947 — December 21, 2017

Joseph Vincent King was born on August 17th, 1947, and entered into eternal life on December 21st, 2017. Joe was the loving husband of Fay Ellen (Ronca) King, father of Jeffrey (Sarah), David (Jenni), Mara, and Daniel (Stacy Quade). He was proud Pop Pop to Sean, Matthew, Connor, Rebecca, Angela, Alexander, Ethan, and Noah. He is further survived by his two nieces, Samantha Novotny (Eric) and Jocelyn Pidoux (Jerome). Joe played football for Pius X High School and Cornell, before transferring to University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he earned his bachelors degree. Joe served in the U.S. Army Security Agency where he developed his affinity for languages. Following his time in the military, Joe began his career with the United States Treasury in the Savings Bond Division and eventually became the Director for the state of Wisconsin. During that time, he became instrumental in developing the current home education law, serving on the Wisconsin Parents Association Board of Directors for over 25 years. After retirement, Joe worked at Walmart in various positions, most recently in the Vision Center. Joe was always active in his parish, primarily with the international mission in Mexico. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
