Joni Mitchell entered this world on October 22, 1961, and left it exactly 59 years and one day later, on October 23, 2020. For many years, Joni enjoyed her life to the fullest. She danced through life to the playlist of classic rock; none of us can ever remember a time getting into our mom’s car and not having Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, or the Doobie Brothers blasting out the speakers. She enjoyed traveling and shared this love by taking us on many family adventures to Mexico, Hawaii, Disneyland and more growing up. Our mom loved to cook as a way to show love, and as adults we still make many of our favorite childhood recipes, as the taste of these foods bring back happy feelings and memories. Later in life, Joni’s greatest blessing was being a grandma. She loved spending time with Kyle and Landon, Mackenzie, and Mia and Emma. She thought the world about her grandkids, and they brought her immense joy. Our mom never met a stranger, and despite many personal challenges, she tried hard to show love and be a friend to all. She is survived by her daughter Courtney Clyde (Pat) and sons Kevin Katerinos (Kristin) and Craig Katerinos, her loving grandchildren, her ex-husband but good friend, Mike Katerinos, sisters Lori Danby (Brett) and Sally Cox (Andy), her brother Jeff Mitchell (Candy), and nieces and nephews, and many loving friends . When she passed through Heaven's gates, she was greeted warmly by her parents, Mitch and Myrna Mitchell. “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest’” Matthew 11:28. Rest in eternal peace, Mom.
