John M. Wisdom

John Michael Wisdom, age 85, of Franklin, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025. Born on November 29, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, John was the beloved son of the late Harry and Anne Wisdom. 

John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy for over three years, where he was honorably discharged. After his service, he continued his family legacy as the fourth-generation owner of Wisdom Adhesives, dedicating his career to the family business. 

A dedicated community member, John volunteered for over 10 years as a patient ambassador at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where his warm and compassionate spirit brought comfort to many. He also devoted time to tutoring and volunteering at the Sacred Heart School of Theology, sharing his knowledge and kindness with others. 

A true lover of nature, John found joy in fishing, hiking, and spending time outdoors. He was also a passionate hobbyist, meticulously crafting miniature ship models with a keen eye for detail. An avid reader, John never missed an opportunity to immerse himself in a good book. 

John is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia (Alby) Wisdom, and his loving family, including daughters Linda Wisdom Preston (married to Paul) and Kathy Wisdom Hedley (married to Craig); sons Bob Wisdom (married to Lisa) and Jeff Wisdom (married to Kristi); grandchildren Nicole, Paul Jr., Luke, Austin, Brianna, McKenzie, Hannah, Lily, Alexis, Blake, and Brady; and great-grandchildren James and Boston. John is also survived by his sister-in-law Grace, wife of his late brother George. He was preceded in death by his brothers George and Carl and his sister Joan. John’s kindness, wisdom, and passion for life will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. 

His legacy of service and love will continue to inspire those who knew him. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of choice in John’s memory.
