John W. Peters

82, entered Eternal Life on August 5, 2017 at home with family by his side. John, the third youngest of nine children, was born in Milwaukee, WI to Douglas and Rose (Borths) Peters on August 10, 1934. He is survived by his loving wife Rose, married 56 years, his children: Douglas (Paula) Peters, Kenneth (Janelle) Peters, Susan (Kevin) Slonac, Dr. Michelle Peters, grandchildren: Douglas Peters, Kiva Slonac, Emma-Amelia Peters Smebak, John James Peters. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Peters and brother-in-law Jim Eckl. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. John enlisted in the Air Force at age 17 and spent over 20 years serving his country. After his career in the military, he joined GE where he spent the next 20+ years. He was a Vietnam veteran, vice-chairman of the GE-ECCO Board and a trustee at CKIS. Most of all he was a loving husband and wonderful father. Special thanks to caregivers Sandra, Liz, Renee, Veronica, Jeanette, Hollie, Jos and Bobbi who provided wonderful in-home care for John over the past four years. Special thanks also to the caregivers at St. Ann Center: Debbie, Mitch, Sharon, Nancy, Rose and many others who provided superb care for John during his two weekly visits. These caregivers greatly enhanced John's quality of life and were instrumental in creating many wonderful lasting memories. Visitation: Tuesday Aug 15, 4-7 pm with prayer service to follow at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial: Wed Aug 16 at 10 am, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 3100 W. Parnell Ave, Milwaukee, WI, Fr. Dominic Caldognetto, SX presiding. Burial: SWVMC Cemetery, 21731 Spring St. Union Grove, WI. Lunch: Michael's on the Lake, 3101 Eagle Rd. Kansasville, WI.
