He was survived by his loving wife Ruth (50 years); 3 daughters Melissa (Kevin), Jenni, and Natalie (Daniel); unofficially adopted grandkids Emma and Mason, courtesy of Dannielle and Craig Moore (who have been a pillar of support); many grand dogs; 4 sisters Rita, Terri, Arleen, Sue, and his brother Thomas. Proceeded in death by his parents Lawrence and Dolores; brother Allan and sister Carolyn. John was a very outgoing character that made numerous amazing friends throughout his life. Great thanks to his best friend Bob Pfeifer who served with him in Vietnam and introduced him to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. As a proud Marine, he spent many of his weekends welcoming his fellow servicemen and women home. Special thanks to the “Cool Kids Club” and the extended family he gained by being a part of these organizations. Many thanks to Dr. Sadatti and Dr. Nunez-Lopez, for all their wonderful care and putting up with endless sarcasm and corny jokes. At a later date a private celebration of life will be held. The family asks in lieu of flowers, in the honor of John please make contributions to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
