John Hansen

April 4, 1944 — July 22, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Hansen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, on July 22, 2024, at the age of 80, John passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. John was born on April 4, 1944, he was known for his kind and generous spirit, his silly jokes, his love for the outdoors, and his dedication to his loved ones. John is a pillar of strength and a source of wisdom for all who know him.


John is survived by his loving wife Diane Hansen, Diane and John shared a love so deep that it illuminated the lives of all around them, a bond forged in kindness, laughter, and a lifetime of cherished moments. Their love story will forever be remembered as a testament to the enduring power of love.

In addition to his loving wife, Diane Hansen, John is survived by his children Rodney & Debbie Wawrzyniakowski, Bobby & Diana Wilkum, Paty Wawrzyniakowski, Jane & Jeff Waldoch, Terry & Mark Dunham, Lisa Pahl, and Lynn Wawrzyniakowski. John’s legacy of love and kindness extends to his 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride throughout his life. Each generation to come. John is also survived by his brothers Stevie Hansen, Jerry-Jo Hansen, David Hansen, and Herman Dean Hansen and sister Cindy Gross. John’s family was his treasure, and the bond he shared with his siblings was a source of strength and support throughout his life.


Services for John Hansen will be held at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, located at 3800 E. College Ave, Cudahy WI, 53110, on August 10, 2024, at 10:30am. Following the service, a celebration of John’s life will take place at the American Legion Post, located at 9159 Beloit Rd, Milwaukee WI, 53227. Family and friends are invited to join to honor and remember John, sharing memories, stories, and moments of reflection in tribute to his life and legacy. May this time of gathering bring comfort, solace, and a sense of unity to all who knew and loved John.
