John Barajas, a cherished soul, passed away peacefully at his home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on May 7, 2024. Born on November 3, 1950, in Wisconsin, John's life was a testament to his kindness, love, and extraordinary handiness.
John dedicated over three decades of his life to serving the State of Wisconsin as a valued corrections field supervisor. His exemplary service and unwavering sense of duty impacted many lives, and his efforts did not go unnoticed for the Department of Corrections.
Beyond his professional life, John was a man of many passions. His love for fishing led him to forge lifelong friendships with fellow fishing enthusiasts from Ohio. An engaged member of the Wisconsin Blue's Club, John’s love for music was as boundless as his generosity. His spirit of giving shone brightly as he volunteered his time and resources to numerous local charities, always prioritizing the well-being of children and support for the Military. Founding member of the Great Lakes International Gang Investigators Coalition.
John's adeptness with tools was legendary; he spent countless hours building bikes, indulging in his love for Harley Davidson motorcycles, and was often sought after for his invaluable advice and assistance.
Those close to John are left with cherished memories, especially his loving wife Siri, his adored daughter Loma, and his treasured fur baby, Boba. His legacy will be honored by his long-time friends Mark “Old Man,” Matt, Jerry, Luciano, Justin, Mike, Sue, and Brenda, who will carry forward memories of his loving and kind spirit. John’s warm presence will also continue to be felt by his extended family and friends in Thailand as well as the Department of Justice co-workers and family, who will miss him dearly.
John's life was a beacon of what it means to care deeply for others and immerse oneself fully in one's passions. He embodied the essence of kindness and love and will forever be remembered as a man who made the world a better place simply by being in it. John Barajas will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of love and service will enduringly resonate.
