John B. Hove

Hove, John B. John Byron Hove, 78, passed away at his home in Milwaukee, October 22, 2010. He was born on February 10, 1932 in Milwaukee to Lela Hall Hove and John Hove. John graduated from Bayview High School. He served in the United States Army 1952-1954 and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Hove worked in the construction business, mostly for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company, providing glass products for large projects. John loved golf and hit a hole-in-one at Tuckaway Country Club. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Packers, Brewers, and years ago the Milwaukee Braves. He loved music, particularly jazz and classical. He was a fine trumpet player in bands in his youth. Entertaining family and friends was important to John and many fine establishments in the Milwaukee area greeted him by name and knew his order without asking. John was preceded in death by his mother, father, step-mother, grandparents, sister Sandy and nephew Jay. He is survived by sisters Joan (Virgil) Thompson and Judy (Jay) Harding of Montana and Susan Hove-Pabst (James Pabst) of Washington; many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends, including long-time friend Marian Quandt. Visitation at the MAX A. SASS & SONS GREENRIDGE CHAPEL, on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 10 AM until time of services at 12 Noon. Entombment at Arlington Park Cemetery Chapel of the Roses. Memorials may be sent to the Milwaukee area Aurora Visiting Nurse Association or to a charity of your choice.
