John A. Heidenreich

June 22, 1931 — November 21, 2009

Heidenreich, John A. 78. Found peace on November 21, 2009 after battling Parkinson's for 8 years. Married 58 years to his childhood sweetheart and love of his life Jean(nee Weinkauf). Proud dad of Lynda(Lonnie)Bald and Gregg(Liz). Grandpa of Melanie, Melissa, Lauren and Kelly. Great-grandpa of Veronica and Keegan. Further survived by siblings, Jerry(Marlene), Jean(the late Larry)D'Amato and sister-in-law Gale Manke, plus a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents John A. and June Heidenreich. John was an Army veteran. He was employed at the Square D Company, as a tool and die maker, for 36 years and retired from the UW Water Institute after 10 years. John was a health enthusiast before it became fashionable. He cycled, jogged and had many experiences backpacking in the National Parks. Most remarkable, he walked home from work 9 miles every day until retirement. The family will greet friends at the Max A. Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel on Friday, November 27 from 10 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment at Forest Home Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, "Spend more precious time with your loved ones" in honor of John. A special thanks to the staff at Boland Hall, Union Grove, for their care, kindness and comfort. John, you were a faithful, honest, most agreeable husband. "A match made in Heaven". May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
