Joanne Marilyn Lynch, née Hagberg, known affectionately to all as Joanne, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024, in Greendale, Wisconsin. Born on August 13, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Joanne's life was one rich with love, learning, and the simple joys of nature.
Joanne's early life in Milwaukee set the stage for her being among the first graduating classes at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. There she earned a degree in education, a testament to her intelligence.
After completing her education, Joanne dedicated her life to her family, embracing the role of homemaker with grace and devotion. She took immense pride in caring for her three sons, Michael, Kevin, and David James. Her husband of 66 years, Dave Lynch, predeceased her, as did her sons Michael and David James, leaving a legacy of love and strength that will forever be cherished by those who remain.
Joanne's life was also marked by the joy she took in simple pleasures. Her garden was a canvas, nurturing every plant and flower with care. Bird watching brought the thrill of the natural world to her doorstep. Summers were spent fishing at the cabin, a tradition spanning three decades, where she found serenity and joy in the stillness of nature. When indoors, the melodic sounds of Joanne playing the piano could often be heard, filling the home with music and warmth.
Her grandchildren, James and Samantha, along with their spouses Kellie and Cord, have fond memories of their grandmother's spirited and interesting personality. Joanne's great-grandchildren, Elena, Elliott, Ethan, Harper, and Brooks, will grow up knowing her through the stories and memories that will be passed down, a testament to her lasting impact.
Though her sisters Dorothy and Lois predeceased her, the memories of the bond they shared will continue to live on.
As we bid farewell to Joanne, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by the love she gave and received, the knowledge she cherished, and the natural world she adored. Joanne's life was a beautiful symphony of moments, each note played with intention and love, creating a melody that will resonate in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
In her passing, Joanne leaves behind a world more beautiful for her presence in it, and a family that will honor her legacy by embracing the values she lived by every day. May she rest in peace, knowing that her spirit will always be a part of the lives she touched.
