Joanne M. Bonin

June 15, 1943 — July 24, 2024

Joanne M. Bonin, a beacon of love and courage, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024 at the age of 81. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 15, 1943, Joanne's life was a testament to her kind-hearted nature and entrepreneurial spirit.

Joanne was the cherished wife of James "Jim" Bonin and the loving mother of Taras A. Bonin, Colleen Hodel, and Kristina (John P.) Coppo. She was a devoted grandmother to Taras J. and Keeley Bonin, Madelaine and Jackson Hodel, and Grady, Ava, and Casey Coppo. Joanne's family was the centerpiece of her life, and she nurtured each relationship with care, imparting wisdom and joy in every moment they shared.

Her academic journey led her to study Business and Data Processing at the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), where she laid the foundation for her future endeavors. Joanne's professional life was marked by her pioneering attitude and her commendable work ethic. She began her career in sales, where her charismatic personality and dedication quickly became evident. Embracing her entrepreneurial calling, Joanne founded her own real estate agency, where she excelled as an agent and land developer. Her professional achievements were not just a reflection of her business acumen but also her commitment to building a better community.

Joanne's passion for life extended well beyond her professional pursuits. An accomplished airplane pilot, she soared above the clouds, embracing the freedom of the skies. Her love for the earth was just as strong; farming and gardening were activities close to her heart, allowing her to connect with nature and nurture life in its many forms. Joanne also had a love for music, played the organ at her church as young woman and passed her love of music along to her family. An ardent animal lover, Joanne found companionship and joy in the company of her beloved pets. The thrill of motorcycling gave her a sense of adventure that she carried with her in all aspects of her life.

Above all, Joanne cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a guiding star in their lives, teaching them to embrace every opportunity with enthusiasm and grace. Her love for her family was a constant, unwavering force that will continue to inspire them for generations to come.

Joanne was a woman of many virtues—loving, courageous, and kind. She faced life's challenges with a brave heart and always found the strength to rise above them. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and the enduring power of family.

As we remember Joanne, we are reminded of the words of Helen Keller: "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Joanne's spirit and the love she shared will forever remain a part of those who knew her.

Joanne's life was a remarkable journey of joy, challenges, and triumphs. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her warmth, her laughter, and her indomitable spirit will be cherished in memory by all whose lives she touched.

As we bid farewell to Joanne M. Bonin, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the extraordinary life she led. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and in the many lives she has influenced. Though she may have left this earthly realm, her spirit will remain an everlasting presence, guiding and comforting us as we navigate the path of life without her.
