JoAnne Kamish, a loving and generous soul, passed away on May 2, 2023, in her hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Born on March 3, 1956, to Virginia and Robert Volm. JoAnne lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to her family and friends.
JoAnne was the beloved mother of the late Adam (Danielle Peters) Kamish and Luke (Kristina Flatow) Kamish. She was a proud grandma to Adam Jr. Kamish, Colton Peters, Logan Kamish, Bethany, and Alexus. JoAnne was a dear sister to Diane Morales, Donna Nealey, Donald (Mary) Volm, John Volm, Barbara Volm, Gloria (Kevin) Olson, and the late Jerry Volm. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
JoAnne was a long-time employee of St. Francis Hospital as a nursing assistant. She also worked in housekeeping at the Country Inn Hotel. Her dedication to her work and the hospital community was evident in the relationships she built with her colleagues and the pride she took in her job. JoAnne's love for her work was only surpassed by her love for her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Outside of work, JoAnne had a passion for the television show General Hospital, as well as playing slots and bingo. Her love for these activities brought joy to her life and created many cherished memories with her family and friends. JoAnne's generosity and gentle nature were evident in her willingness to share her hobbies with others, creating bonds that will last a lifetime.
In her personal life, JoAnne was known for her generosity, loving spirit, and gentle demeanor. She had a unique ability to make those around her feel loved and cared for, and her presence brought warmth and comfort to any room. JoAnne's love for her family was unwavering, and she was always there to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement.
JoAnne's legacy will live on through the memories she created with her family and friends, as well as the impact she made on the lives of those she encountered. Her gentle spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In honor of JoAnne's life and her dedication to her family, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the family.. This gesture of generosity and love would be a fitting tribute to a woman who gave so much of herself to others.
JoAnne Kamish's passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but her spirit will live on through the love and memories she leaves behind. May she rest in peace, knowing that her life was filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of those who cherished her.
