Joan S. Diaz (nee. Napientek) age 67, found peace on December 23, 2019 in Pueblo, Colorado. She was born in Franklin, Wisconsin on June 2, 1952, the youngest daughter of late George and Olivia (nee. Stepke) Napientek. She attended Sacred Hearts Elementary School and was a graduate of Franklin High School. She was a loving mother of two children, Luke Gunia and Mandy Morris (nee. Gunia), and beloved wife of Dale M. Diaz for 32 years. Dale and Joan led a life of adventures in California, New Mexico, and Colorado. While residing in Cloudcroft, NM Joan formed the High-Country Horsemen’s Association. Joan had an appreciation for beauty, art, nature, and animals. She loved to be active outside including: cross-country skiing, speed skating, cycling, hiking, fishing, gardening, snowmobiling, motorcycle riding, horseback riding, and raising farm animals. Joan also loved being creative and expressed it through her love of cooking, painting, and quilting. Joan had a strong faith and read her Bible daily. We will miss her love and laughter. Joan is survived by her Husband, Dale Diaz; Children, Luke (Alison) Gunia and Mandy (Ian) Morris; Grandchildren, Skylar Gunia, Harper Morris, Mabel Morris, Jude Morris; Sisters and Brothers, Joyce (Dave) Gumieny, Janice (Al) Schmidt, Jacqueline (Nick) Ioder, John (Marsha) Napientek. She leaves behind many cherished relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerome Napientek. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last year, especially her loving husband, Dale Diaz.
