Joan P. Roehr

July 12, 1935 — June 7, 2023

Joan P. Roehr, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in Oconomowoc, WI, at the age of 87. Born on July 12, 1935, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Clarence and Martha (Kalbe) Rottmann.


Joan is survived by her loving children, John (Kelly) Roehr and Susan (Peter) Casper; her cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth, Heather, and Tommy; her devoted siblings, Doris Rottmann and Bill (Sharon) Rottmann; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, James.


Throughout her life, Joan was known for her kind, friendly, and gentle nature. She had a natural ability to make people feel welcome and at ease in her presence, and her warm smile and genuine concern for others endeared her to all who met her.


Joan's favorite pastime was spending time at the family's lake cottage. She treasured the many summers spent there with her husband, children, and grandchildren, and enjoyed boating and fishing on the lake. The memories created at the lake will forever be cherished by her family.


Joan's life was a testament of love, kindness, and friendship. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew her. As her family and friends mourn her passing, they also celebrate her life and the countless memories they shared with her.


Visitation will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023, at the MAX A. SASS & SONS GREENRIDGE CHAPEL (4747 S. 60th St., Greenfield) from 5:00 PM until the hour of service at 7:00 PM. Burial will take place, the next day, on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, in the Emanuel United Church of Christ Cemetery (10627 W Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners) at 11:00 AM all are encouraged to meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in Joan’s name.
