Joan Anna Hugl - On Sunday, March 21, 2021, Joan Anna Hugl passed away peacefully at age 78. Joan was born July 24, 1942 in Evanston, Illinois to Carl and Mabel (Schalk) Hugl. She graduated from Iowa University in Ames and received her Master's Degree in Sociology at UWM. She worked as a Psychiatric Social Worker in Milwaukee County for 30+ years. An avid world traveler, Joan has attended not one but two Olympic Games (Tokyo and Sydney). When she was home she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, beading, and making beautiful silver jewelry. Her handiwork earned her multiple ribbons at the Wisconsin State Fair over many decades. Joan also loved dogs, three West Highland White Terriers in particular: Snowflake, Tilly, and Oliver. Joan is preceded in death by her father Carl and her mother Mabel. She is survived by her sister Geri, her brother Bob, one cousin, and several nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews. A celebration of of Joan's life will take place at the Max Sass Funeral Home-Greenridge Chapel on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 10 AM until the time of service at noon.
