Jessica L. Hansen

Jessica Lynn Hansen was unexpectedly called home on November 26, 2020 at the age of 32. Jess was beloved by her parents, David Hansen and Linda (nee Barger) Hansen, and her sisters, Callie Hansen and Taylor (Evan Brown) Hansen. She was also loved by her grandparents, Ruth Hansen and the late Thomas Hansen, John Barger and the late Betty Barger, and the late Joan Johnson and Daniel Johnson. She was similarly adored by her aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jess was also dearly loved by Mary Anne Seefurth, who cared for Jess for decades and became one of the family. Jessica enjoyed spending time with her family, from spending mornings snuggling with her mom on the couch, to afternoons spent sitting outside in the sunshine with her dad. She also loved outings with her sisters and friends, such as trips to the mall and time spent enjoying the county zoo. Jessica was opinionated on all things from her love of cozy sweatpants and fuzzy socks to her dislike of physical therapy, and went so far as to pretend she was asleep in an attempt to get out of it. She loved opening presents Christmas morning, and enjoying whipped cream and chocolate syrup on birthdays. She was loved by so many, including all the family pets - no dog or cat could resist Jessica’s charm. The world is a little darker without her smile, or her giggle from getting puppy kisses. Jessica made friends easily including the staff and students of the Center for Visually Impaired Children, Penfield Children’s Center, Southwood Glen Elementary and Franklin High School. She loved her friends in the special education program, particularly her high school sweetheart, Nick. Those of us lucky enough to have known Jess miss her desperately. A private service will be held December 3, and a Celebration of Life will be held when we are able to congregate again.
