Jerome was a man who embodied the spirit of his generation. Hardworking and dedicated, he built a life that reflected his values and interests.
Jerome's journey was one of significant accomplishments. He moved to Milwaukee in the late 1950's after serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and marring the love of his life. He became a respected Journeyman Carpenter, Local 231, and Construction Project Supervisor, leaving his mark on numerous projects across Milwaukee and the surrounding areas. His skilled hands and keen eye for detail contributed to the skyline that defines the region, a legacy of sturdy craftsmanship and integrity.
In retirement, Jerome moved to the middle of the state near Almond, WI and built by his own hands his second home back in the woods on 40 acres. He and NancyLee lived there for 25 years. Those who knew Jerome will remember him as a man of many interests and talents. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace in the quiet of the woods and the beauty of the early morning light. His love for hunting was matched only by his passion for gardening; Jerome took pride in planting fruit and timber trees, ensuring that nature's bounty would be enjoyed by generations to come. Tirelessly working on a project, he was a man who could never sit still, as there was always something to be built, fixed, or improved upon.
Jerome's humor, intelligence, and interesting character were the hallmarks of his personality. He could light up a room with his quick wit and entertain friends and family with stories that were both humorous and thought-provoking. His laughter was infectious, and his knowledge on a wide range of topics never ceased to amaze those around him.
Jerome's life was one well-lived and well-loved. Jerome was not only self-reliant and resourceful but also a beacon of strength and support to his family and friends. His impact on the lives he touched and the landscapes he shaped will endure for years to come. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy is not just in the structures he built or the trees he planted, but in the laughter, wisdom, and memories he shared with all of us.
