Meyer Jerome J. age 88 of Franklin, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 Surrounded by his family. He is survived by his son Michael and Joanne, His grandsons Jeremy (Heidi) and Ryan (Ashley), great grandchildren Kyleigh, Damian and Hayden Meyer also many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Private services were held. A memorial may be sent in his name to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) or the Wounded Warrior Project. Jerome was born in Milwaukee on June 26, 1928 and graduated from Boys Tech. After the attack on pearl Harbor he enlisted in the United States Marines, serving During World War II in the South Pacific and in the Korean War with the 1st Marine Division, 7th Marines, he is a Chosin Reservoir survivor. Upon returning home from the war, Jerome went to work for AT&T in the engineering division and soon after married his lifelong love Joan Gemienhardt. He retired from AT&T after 35 years. Jerome loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He and his wife Joan traveled throughout the United States visiting family and friends. They also became world travelers seeing many memorable places with lots of wonderful stories to tell. He was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need but most importantly Jerome will be remembered for his love for his family and friends.
