Jerome "Harry" J. Tobiasz

WATERTOWN- Born to eternal life on August 9, 2023, at the age of 91. Loving husband of Betty J. (Celesnik) Tobiasz for 57 years. Preceded in death by his parents John and Antoinette (Murach) Tobiasz; brothers Sylvester, Raymond (Mabel), Joseph (Rose), Aloysius (Eunice); sisters Esther Tobiasz and Theresa Brazeau (Roy); sister-in-law Florine (Thomas) Novotny. Survived by sister-in-law Delores (the late James) Acker. Further survived and loved by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Harry was a proud United States Army veteran who served his country during the Korean War. During his service in a SCARWAF (Special Category Army With Air Force) unit, he was a member of the 928 th Engineer Aviation Group where he advanced to the rank of Sergeant.

After 39 years of employment, Harry retired in 1990 from the City of Milwaukee as a Supervisor of Parking and Playgrounds in the Bureau of Traffic Engineering & Electrical Services. He was a hardworking, skilled craftsman who was always willing to help family members with their home projects.

He also knew how to relax and enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Lake Noquebay in Crivitz where he would get the work done first and then go fishing with a cigar and perhaps a PBR.

Harry was a kind and loving man. Along with Betty, Harry cared deeply about his community in Watertown. He was a faithful and active member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, and he volunteered for many years at the Watertown Food Pantry.

Harry was a very generous person and a devoted family member. In 1975, he selflessly provided the gift of life by donating one of his kidneys to his brother. Harry touched the lives of all who were blessed to know him and he will be deeply missed.
