Jeremiah O. Clement, 44, of Milwaukee, WI, passed away on December 31. After a turbulent and unexpected 2-year battle with frontotemporal degeneration and a motor neuron disease, he was surrounded by his loving family in his home, per his wishes.

Jeremiah was born on August 7, 1980, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, to Oliver M. Clement and Barbara J. (Wegner) Clement.

During his childhood, Jeremiah lived in St. Francis, WI, and graduated from St. Francis High School in 1998, where he met his wife Rebecca L. (Reyes) Clement. They were married in 2001 and celebrated 23 years together, building a friendship and love over 30 years. Jeremiah took immense pride in his two children, Gabriella N. (Clement) Hutchins and Jonathan G. Clement. This summer, Gabriella married her high school sweetheart, Kaden B. Hutchins, ensuring her father was there to walk her down the aisle.

Jeremiah began his banking career in 2002, holding multiple positions at various locations. His favorite workplace was "The Office" crew at the PNC-TVO. Most recently, he worked for Bank Five Nine in Menomonee Falls for seven years as a Customer Service Manager/Teller Supervisor, where he kept his colleagues entertained with his “dad jokes.”

From a young age, Jeremiah was active in Scouting America, earning the rank of Life Scout and becoming a brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. He later contributed to scouting activities with his children, supporting Gabriella's First Aid and Explorer Post 63 in St. Francis and participating in Jonathan's Scout Troop, Troop 595, out of West Allis.

Jeremiah loved the outdoors, including hiking, camping, and driving. He enjoyed singing along to "oldies" and cherished the beauty of a good snowfall. He had a passion for learning and sharing the history of Milwaukee and Wisconsin. He had a fierce love for people, displayed in a quiet and sweet manner, and was always the first to lend a hand, humbly saying, “It’s no problem.” He was living proof that “The softest voice can have the loudest impact.”

Jeremiah is survived by his spouse, Rebecca; his children, Gabriella (Kaden) and Jonathan; parents, Barbara and Oliver; mother-in-law, Nadine Reyes; father-in-law, Gabriel Reyes; sisters, Nichole (Arturo Burgos) Clement and Heidi Clement; sister-in-law, Rachel Reyes-Wheeler; brother-in-law, Chad Wheeler; and brother-in-law, Gregory Reyes. He adored his nieces, Adriana Reyes, Angelina Reyes, and Lilyana Wheeler, along with his nephews, AJ and Aiden Burgos.

Special acknowledgment goes to his dedicated team of caregivers who supported him and the family over the last two years: Aunt Diana Franzen, Aunt Bonnie (Doug) Clement, Aunt Marguerite Reyes, Rachel (Chad) Wheeler, Mary Wedor, the United Community Center Adult Day Center, his compassionate son Jonathan, and his loving wife Rebecca, who was determined to provide him with the best life possible after his diagnosis. We extend our deepest gratitude to all family members, friends, and work colleagues who helped make this journey easier. We are especially thankful to the staff at Compassus Hospice for their support during this challenging time, including Windy, Jared, Liz, Abi, Anita, Paul, and the rest of the team. Your guidance, kindness, and care were invaluable to us.

One last dad joke: "I feel bad for the funeral directors; they always have to work the 'graveyard' shift because someone is always dying to get in. Personally, I hate going to funerals; I'm simply not a mourning person."
