It is with profound sadness and everlasting love that we announce the passing of Jennifer Lynn Tonyan (nee Martinez), a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who departed this life on February 7, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on January 25, 1977, Jennifer's vivacious spirit and warm heart touched all who knew her throughout her 48 years of life.

Jennifer, affectionately known to many as Jen, was a beacon of light and joy. She graduated from Burlington High School and had a fulfilling career at Vorteq, where her dedication and work ethic were matched only by her kindness and compassion toward her colleagues.

Jennifer's life was a testament to the things she held dear—her beloved family, her passion for life, and her unwavering generosity. She found her soulmate in John Tonyan, and together they created a family full of love and laughter. As a devoted mother, she nurtured and guided her children, Allyssa Winkler (Gavin) and Hunter Magill, instilling in them the values of love, kindness, and perseverance.

Her mother, Janice Braden (the late "Pork"), and her father, Mauro Martinez Sr., bestowed upon Jennifer a legacy of strength and love that she carried with her always. Her siblings—Mauro Martinez II, Allison Bursiek (Aaron), and Joshua Martinez (Abby)—will remember her as the glue that bound the family together in her younger years and a sister whose advice and support were invaluable.

Jennifer's life was also enriched by the joy she found in her nieces and nephews, Mauro III, Mercedes, Kaiden, Kamden, Kaleb, Giuliana, Riley, Bennett, Riley, Logan. Each held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

A lover of the outdoors, Jennifer relished her yearly camping trips, a tradition that allowed her to bask in the beauty of nature and the company of those she loved. The beach, especially the Outer Banks, was her sanctuary, a place where she found peace and solace amidst the waves and sand.

Jennifer's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. Her collection of owl memorabilia reflected her fascination with these wise and majestic creatures. True crime documentaries and lifetime movies captivated her, providing hours of intrigue and entertainment. Yet, it was her kitty Asher who provided her with comfort and companionship, especially during her last months.

Those who knew Jennifer will remember her as a woman who lived passionately, loved generously, and thought of others before herself. Her spirit of giving knew no bounds, and her ability to listen and empathize made her a confidante to many.

Jennifer's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the countless memories she created with those around her. Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Though she has departed from this world, her light will never fade from the hearts of those who loved her.

Jennifer Lynn Tonyan's life will be celebrated in the city where she was born and where she took her last breath, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her story does not end with her passing, for she lives on in the cherished memories of her family and friends, and in the love that will forever echo through their lives.

As we say goodbye to Jennifer, we hold onto the beauty she brought into this world and the moments of joy and kindness that defined her. She was, and always will be, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. May she rest in peace, knowing that her love will continue to illuminate the paths of those she left behind.

Family and friends are invited to the Max A. Sass & Sons Mission Hills Chapel to remember Jennifer and celebrate her life on Sunday, February 16 from 1 - 4 PM.
