Jeffrey Alan Manske, age 65, known as Jeff to his friends and family, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on April 3, 2024, in Appleton, Wisconsin. Born on September 22, 1958 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jeff was kindhearted to all who knew him.
Jeff grew up in Greendale where he attended St. Alphonsus Grade School and Notre Dame High School in Milwaukee before continuing his education at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC). He was a skilled welder at Rexnord but his passion for tropical and saltwater fish along with his entrepreneurial spirit led him to becoming the owner of Aquatic Imports in Green Bay and Appleton.
Jeff had many interests. He was an avid photographer and lover of books. His interest for history was profound, often expressing itself in his extensive collections of coins, stamps and trains. Jeff was always willing to share his knowledge and treasures with fellow enthusiasts.
Although work took him away from Milwaukee, family was important to Jeff. For the past several years, he had flower arrangements delivered each month to his beloved Mother, Carol. Jeff will be remembered for his intelligence, generosity, and thoughtfulness. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Manske and stepbrother Bob Engel. He is survived by his mother, Carol, and her husband, Don Engel; his sisters, Jane (Chuck) Hubmann, Julie (Jake) Brusewitz, JoEllen (Ken) Pitrof and Rick Engel; his uncle, Lee Knapinski; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved companion of many years, Mona Kelpinski.
Jeff’s love for his animals was evident in his everyday life, as he leaves behind his cherished pets: dogs Griswold and James, parrot Flip’m, tortoise Cecil, and turtle Filbert.
Jeff was an organ and tissue donor, a decision that has helped over 70 individuals.
A Celebration of Jeff’s life will be held Saturday, April 20th at 1:00, service at 3:00. Max A. Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel, 4747 S. 60th St. Greenfield, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
