Jeanette Marie McDonald (née Scheinoha,) age 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 4, 2025, at Care-Age in Brookfield, WI. Born on November 15, 1930, in Milwaukee, WI., she moved on knowing that she did her best to raise her five children after losing her loving husband 60 years earlier. She was both Mom and Dad to her children. She never lost her wit, always amazing anyone in the room. Her infectious smile, wit and generous spirit were a gift to all who knew her. She made everyone laugh - sometimes because of the absurdity of the situation and sometimes to show people that ultimately - it's gonna be alright, or, as Jeanette was fond of saying “it’ll get better before you get married!”

Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of making others happy. She brought light and warmth to her family, who were the center of her world. She is survived by her loving sons, Norman and his wife Laura, Kevin, and David with his wife Judy; her devoted daughters, Denise and her husband Ed, and Karlene with her husband Joe Barg. Jeanette cherished her role as a mother and was a guiding star in the lives of her children.

Jeanette's life was further enriched by her beloved husband, Norman Sheperd McDonald, with whom she shared a love that was as deep as it was abiding. Though Norman preceded her in death, the legacy of their partnership remains in the lives of their children as well as in the joyous laughter of her 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Each family gathering echoed with the love and humor that Jeanette infused into every aspect of her life. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Mary, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her life was also marked by the loving relationships with her brothers Thomas and David Scheinoha, and half brothers Donald and Robert Miller, who all preceded her in death, as well as her mother, Lillian Scheinoha Bates.

Throughout her career, Jeanette was a valued employee at JC Penney's & C&H Distributors, where she applied her solid work ethic and positive attitude to every task. Her colleagues remember her as a dedicated and friendly presence, always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word. Her involvement in the company went beyond her job description as she made lasting friendships and contributed to the community within the workplace.

Jeanette loved good old Country Music - especially Faron Young & Ray Price. Her passion for music and singing found a home with the Sweet Adelines, an organization dear to her heart. She dedicated many years to harmonizing and performing thus spreading the joy of music wherever she went. She also sang in her church choir. Her fellow chorus members recall her as not only a talented singer but also a source of constant encouragement and fun.

Family gatherings were always a highlight for Jeanette as she reveled in the company of her loved ones. She was the matriarch who could always be counted on for a humorous story, a comforting hug, or a delicious meal. Her home was a haven of happiness and an anchor for her family where everyone was welcome and cherished.

Jeanette's life was marked by her loving nature, her kind deeds, and her funny anecdotes which will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. She lived her life with a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love. Her legacy is one of compassion, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to those she held dear. She always encouraged her children and grandchildren to follow their dreams and supported them in all of their interests and endeavors.

As we say goodbye to Jeanette, we celebrate a life beautifully lived. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort us as we hold her close in our hearts. Jeanette's journey through life was a reflection of the love she shared so freely, and that love will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she touched.
