On Saturday, July 9, 2011 at age 84, Jean Marion Cruikshank Marin was led by grace to her heavenly home. She was predeceased by the love of her life and husband, Otto R. Marin and by her brother Homer Cruikshank. She is survived by her daughters, Judith L. Kilgore (Kevin) and Janislee Marin (Robin Marks), eight grandchildren and various nieces and nephews. She will be very much missed by her friends. Jean was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 18, 1926. She graduated from South Division High School with the Class of January 1945. She resided there until 1953, when she moved to California and met her soul mate, Otto Marin. The couple was married September 25, 1954. Jean and Otto lived in Orange, California from 1954 until 1986 when they moved to Clovis, California. They came to Utah in 2005. Jean was a resident of Sandy, Utah at the time of her death. Jean loved the Lord and going to Bible studies. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church, most recently attending the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sandy, Utah. She was active in many church organizations throughout her life and frequently volunteered for community organizations. She loved music and often used her beautiful singing voice to glorify her Lord. Visitation will be from 10am to 12 noon, with the funeral service following on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Max Sass & Sons Funeral Home at 15th & Oklahoma in Milwaukee. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Arlington Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association. Please go online to www.heart.org.
