Kurowski, Jean B. (nee Armstrong), Jean Beverly passed away at home peacefully on April 22, 2015 at the age of 77. She will join her father Elmer and mother Evelyn (nee Votava) in their home. Loving mother of John N. and loving sister of Richard Armstrong. Further survived by dear friends Shirley Kurowski, Edward, Barbara, Brian (Elizabeth) and Jennifer, god daughter, Janusiak, Adrianna & Julia Van Kirk, grandchildren of her heart, Irene Bialas, Sandy Scherer, Gary and Darlene Lindsay, Emeran and Charlene Lenoard, Peig Myota, Ann Saqr and Leanne Pierce, friends and fellow volunteers at St. Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church, staff and fellow volunteers at the Alzheimer's Association Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter, and other relatives and friends. Jean was a life long Green Bay Packer fan and season ticket holder, having attended the Ice Bowl with her family. She was also an avid Brewers fan (win or lose) who loved attending games at Miller Park. Jean was a lover of the Arts, Milwaukee Art Museum member, Milwaukee Public Museum member and Milwaukee Symphony season ticket holder and supporter. She was active in fund raising for St. Joan Antida Nursery and Day Care Center, Alverno Elementary School, West Allis Business and Professional Women, and Bach Babes. Jean worked for Rexnord Corporation in Milwaukee for 42 years, before retiring in 2003. Following retirement, Jean spent much of her free time volunteering for the Alzheimer's Association Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter. That volunteer work earned her the first Blair Cares Award (named for Olympic speed skater Bonnie Blair) in 2011 and recognition as Friend of the Year in 2014. As a child, Jean was a Job's Daughter. Special thanks to Dr. Brenda Pierce and the staff and nurses at the Aurora West Allis Memorial Oncology Department and to the nurses and staff of Vitas Healthcare Hospice Services who helped Jean to fulfill her wish to spend her last days at home, in comfort and with loved ones. Jean was loved and will be missed by many. A visitation will be held at the Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral Home, Greenfield, WI on Monday April 27, 2015 from 4 PM until time of services at 7 PM. Private burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Oconto, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter, St. Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church, Greendale or Sojourner Truth House, Milwaukee. Max A.
