Janina A. Zablocki, a beloved seamstress, a hard-working mother, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on July 15, 1929, in Poland, Janina's journey brought her to the United States, where she prioritized her family’s education and well-being.
Janina was a beacon of kindness and strength, taking on the responsibility of caring for her family after her mother’s untimely passing at a young age. She cultivated a remarkable life filled with love, hard work, and devotion to both her immediate family and her community. As a proud member of St. Roman Catholic Church and St. Cyril and Methodius Parish, her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was known as a faith-filled Christian who actively participated in church activities and volunteer efforts, particularly at Polonia Sports Club.
Her vibrant personality shone through her many talents. A true “social butterfly,” Janina had the remarkable ability to connect with people, leaving lasting impressions with her warm demeanor. She took great pride in her hobbies, which included nurturing an amazing rose garden and a large vegetable garden at her home, and creating beautiful clothing—Much of her wardrobe was handmade by herself. Additionally, she enjoyed knitting and sewing, skills that showcased her creativity and dedication.
Janina cherished her role as a storyteller, sharing her rich life experiences with those around her. She will be fondly remembered not only for her riveting tales but also for her exceptional cooking, a skill that was enjoyed by many.
Janina is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Adam (Sarah), Allan, Peter, Alexandra, and Stephanie, and her great grandson Luke. She is further survived by her sister Czeslawa Kotodzieiek.
She is preceded in death by her cherished husband, Zygmunt Zablocki, and her children, Thaddeus, John (Barbara), and Zdzislaw. Also awaiting her in eternal rest are her parents, Stanislawa and Boleslaw Grabowski, and her siblings, Stanislaw Grabowski, Kazimiera Luszczyk, and Eugenia Rabiega.
A visitation in Janina’s honor will be held on January 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at SS Cyril & Methodius Parish, located at 1547 West Windlake Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53215. Following the visitation, a Mass will take place at the same location beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
