Janice M. Tomczak, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on May 17, 1936, Janice touched the lives of many with her caring, loving, and easy-going personality. Her life was a tapestry of cherished moments and laughter, woven through every friendship she made and every family gathering she attended.
For many years, Janice dedicated herself to her role as a Bank Teller, where her warm smile and friendly demeanor brightened the days of those who came to know her.
Janice was a proud mother to her four children, Faye, Stephan, Kevin (Colleen), and Elizabeth (Brian). She took great joy in being a mother, nurturing her children with love and guidance all throughout their lives. Her legacy continues to shine through her grandchildren Kelly, Ryan, and Dalton, who brought her endless joy and pride. Janice is further survived by her brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, and a profound community of relatives and friends, all of whom will carry her spirit in their hearts.
A fan of games and puzzles on her iPad, Janice enjoyed the challenge and fun of puzzles. She had a passion for reading mystery novels, immersing herself in stories that transported her to new worlds. Additionally, her love for travel allowed her to create memories across many beautiful destinations, further enriching her life experiences.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband Gerald in 2000, whose memory she treasured dearly. She also joins her parents, Jerome and Caroline (Vanden Heuvel) Mommaerts, in eternal rest.
A visitation to celebrate Janice's life will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church (1105 South 7th Street, Milwaukee), followed directly by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, Milwaukee.
