Janice J. Tatera, affectionately known as "Jan", passed away on March 27, 2025, in Wind Lake, Wisconsin, at the age of 82. Born on October 3, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jan was a beloved matriarch who cherished her family above all else.
A proud graduate of Pulaski High School, Class of 1960, Jan pursued her passions with vigor throughout her life. She celebrated a remarkable 60-year marriage to her devoted husband, Allen "Al" Tatera, a testament to their unwavering love and commitment. Together, they raised two sons, James (Stacie) Tatera and Thomas (Tamberie Jasunas) Tatera, who were the center of her world.
Jan's legacy extends through her cherished grandchildren, Gracie and Lily Tatera, who brought her immense joy and pride. She is also survived by her loving sister, Gloria (Edward) Miotke, and sister-in-law Linda Seymour, wife of her late brother Robert Seymour, as well as her nephew Edward Miotke Jr. and niece Lynn (Michael) Schuppert. Additionally, she will be remembered fondly by her brothers-in-laws, Richard and Thomas Tatera.
In her spare time, Jan enjoyed various hobbies that brought her happiness. She enjoyed gardening, creating beautiful landscapes that reflected her nurturing spirit. Baking was another of her passions, filling her home with delightful aromas and treats shared among family and friends. Jan had a keen eye for thrift shopping, often uncovering hidden treasures, and was an avid fan of Elvis Presley, whose music resonated deeply with her.
Janice J. Tatera leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories woven with love, laughter, and devotion. Her spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of all who knew her.
