Jane L Hartay

July 31, 1929 — September 7, 2022

Jane was born in Milwaukee and passed away after a long painful battle with arthritis and stenosis which physically limited her mobility. She endured her challenges with grace and good humor. In the end, she succumbed to the complications of advanced age.

She will be sadly missed and remembered by her beloved husband Frank. Loving mother of son, David (Karla) and daughter, Sandra; and grandchildren: Katie (Jason) Norum and Kimberly (Austin) Stich; great grandchildren; Tyler and Alexis Norum and Ashlyn and Brantley Stich. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews, and many relatives and friends.

Jane was predeceased in death by infant daughter, Debra and her parents, Emma and George Larsen and her siblings Harvey Larsen, Lorraine Pautz, Ervin Larsen, Marion Winter, Edward Larsen and Doris Larsen.

Jane was a very determined/ independent woman looking for a better and positive life. After graduating South Division High School, she met Frank at The Falk Corporation. They were married on  May 5, 1951 and celebrated 71 wedding anniversaries together. Frank and Jane were soulmates- their love for one another has been evident and inspiring to all who knew them. They enjoyed fishing and hunting in their early years, transitioning to tennis and golf in later years. In retirement they delivered day- old bakery to food pantries.

As a loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma, Jane's greatest joy was spending time with her family. While enjoying traveling, both domestic, as well as Europe, her trips to Door County were always special, particularly with her young granddaughters. Jane was an exceptional cook and baker hosting family holidays. She particularly focused on healthy living after Franks heart scare. In the later years she enjoyed entertaining her family with pizza parties for the pure joy of being together. She also enjoyed gardening and could read cookbooks for hours.

Jane will be greatly missed by many, but we are grateful for her love, care and influence on us all.
