Jan Adamczyk
Was reunited with his beloved wife Marianne on March 12, 2023 at the age of 99. Loving father of Irene, Ronald (Darlene), and Janine (Mike Kaiser). Proud DziaDzia of Erin and Colleen (Jason). Cherished great-DziaDzia of Elissia (Louis), Kara, and Teyen “Big Boy”. Adored great-great DziaDzia of Leilani and Lua. Further survived by family and friends in the United States, Poland, and France.
Jan was born in Poland. He faced many challenges in his life. He was sent to two concentration camps and managed to escape both times. Talk about courage! He served in the Polish American Army and immigrated to the US in 1950. Jan spoke three languages: Polish, German, and English.
Jan met his sweetheart, Marianne, at a dance hall where he spotted her from across the room. After dancing, they fell in love, married, and enjoyed wedded bliss for 66 years. Together, they had three beautiful children: Irene, Ronnie, and Janine. The family lived on Milwaukee’s southside, practiced Catholicism, and attended St. John Kanty.
Jan was very proud of his Polish heritage. He loved to Polka and was secretary for the Polish American Club, active at the Polish Center, and worked to make Polish Fest a success. Jan worked as a Machinist/Plant Manager for a machine shop in Waukesha. He was responsible for training all new hires. Jan loved fishing and playing the “slots”. Jan’s motto, “Life is short, you have to have fun”, is a message that we all should remember. He was a man with a quiet soul, a big smile, and strong like bull.
The family would like to thank the staff of Harbour Village and Allay Home and Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Jan.
