James M. Lile

James M. Lile (Uncle Buck) Born on February 3, 1948, Jim passed away on April 20, 2017 at the age of 69. He was the "little brother" to Marsha Lile Balistreri (Tony, Dec'd); and uncle to Susan Balistreri and Christine Popp (Randy) and their sons, Joe and C.J. Popp. Sports and the outdoors were Jim's passion. He played football for Pius High School and Whitewater and played golf whenever he could. He and Randy would look for and find any excuse they could to play, regardless of the weather or the season. Bow and gun hunting with buddy Gary in the Wild Rose area was a tradition. For several years he participated in reenactments in several states. His cancer hit him hard this time, but in the end it was his heart that failed him. Thanks to the oncology dept. at St. Luke's, his cancer was under control and the pain had been managed so he could concentrate on his rehab which was progressing wonderfully. His support group of friends and family cheered him on and encouraged him. Thank you Sandi and family; Gary and Christel; and cousin Peter- what a pair you were!! Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lile and May (Long-Lile- Hetto). There is a void in our lives and a break in our hearts - no more goofy antics and acerbic humor; no more skewed view points and dry wit. But in these broken hearts he will live forever. In lieu of flowers, donations may be make to the M.A.C.C. Fund or the charity of your choice. A memorial gathering will be held at the Max A. Sass and Sons - Greenridge Chapel (4747 S. 60th St., Greenfield, WI) on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 10 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Following the burial friends are welcome to join the family at Meyer's family restaurant for lunch and fellowship.
