Borzych, James J. January 17, 2007. Age 79 years. Beloved husband of Janet (nee Zurowski) Loving father of Susan (Richard) Wojciechowski, John (Cindy) Borzych and Judith (Michael) Knezic. Dear grandfather of Jennifer (Ryan Freeman), Peter, Katie, Jason, Kristine and his angel Sara. Fond brother of Thomas (Rhea), the late Grace Plaskiewicz and the late Daniel Borzych. Brother -in-law of Gerald (Pat) Zurowski, Patricia (Donald) Brick, Joan (Robert) Toth, William (Holly) Zurowski and Christine Zurowski. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and his faithful companion Callie. He was our patriarch - the heart of the family. He believed in his absolute duty as mentor - to guide us through our lives, to learn from his mistakes and to save us from our own. From him, we learned that family is the most solid foundation on which to build a purposeful life. He documented our heritage to illustrate that our past has shaped each of us, and the people we will become. Our story is forever changed without him. James was a retired lieutenant with the Milwaukee Fire Dept., past president of Firefighter’s Relief Association, a respected local historian of Milwaukee Polonia, a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and an active member and historian of his family, Polish community and the City of Milwaukee.
