Iris E. Krause, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 9, 2020. Born December 9, 1939 in Alpena MI and baptized December 31, 1939, she confirmed her Faith on April 11, 1954, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Herron, MI. In August 1966 she married John C. Krause who preceded her in death in 2012. Iris worked for the Cudahy School District as a teacher and library aide for many years. After retirement in 2003, she con-tinued to work and volunteer for the district, while traveling throughout the country and the world including many trips with the Vagabonds in later years. Active in her church, first at St John in Cudahy and then Trinity Lutheran in South Milwaukee, Iris had a beautiful voice and sang in the choir most of her life. Service to her faith and community was a cornerstone to a life well-lived. We will miss her selflessness and compassion for others, her pragmatic approach to living, and her acerbic wit and sense of humor. She is survived by her two children: Jeffrey (Paige) Krause, Stoughton WI; Robert (Jill) Krause; grandchildren Alexa and Lauren, Virginia Beach, VA; twin sister Eileen (Paul) Schaedig, Waverly, IA; brother Fred (Carolynne) Wegmeyer Herron, MI; sister Barbara (Jim) Watkin, Knoxville, TN. Further survived by sister-in-laws Joanne (Harold) Norem, Overland Park, KS and Karen (Dave) Baumgartner, Peoria, AZ, nieces and nephews. Iris’s family thanks each of you for your friendship and support through her nearly 5-year battle with bladder cancer. We know that she has impacted your lives as well as ours.
