Irene C. Talajkowski

Irene Talajkowski, nee Beaudin, was united with her beloved husband Thomas on February 3, 2017 at the age of 87. Loving mother of Steve (Shelley), Nancy, Carol (Bill) Belonger, Jim (Linda), and Mary Beth (Ron) Meier. Loving grandmother of James (Kelly) Yager, Josh (Kelly) Yager Adam, Michael, Erica, Matt and Anna. Loving great grandmother of Jason, Ariel and Vivian. Sister of Rose Neumann. Preceded in death by daughter Mary Ellen; brothers Gene, Fred, Paul, Dennis and sister Lillian. Born in Bay City Michigan and raised in Gilbertville Massachusetts until her move to Milwaukee in her early 20s. Irene was a long time member of St. Alexander church and the Christian Women's Association. In addition to what she regarded as her most important role of being a mom and grandmother, Irene worked for a number of years at Miller bakery and considered her work as a barber to the residents of St. Ann's as one of her most rewarding. Irene had a great sense of humor, and always found a corny joke or two to share with her friends, family, and all who would listen. She cherished her friendships as her most prized possessions. Irene was an avid gardener, loved crafting and working with flowers. She often surprised those who touched her heart with a wreath, silk flower arrangement or some baked goods. Irene was generous woman with her time and her heart and will be deeply missed by all who loved her. The family will receive friends on Saturday February 11, 2017 at St. John Paul II Parish- St Alexander Church, located at 3344 S. 16th St., from 9:30 a.m. until the start of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated in Irene's name to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
