HENRY F. BARBER (Hank, Jr.) Born in Oconto, WI on Sept. 15, 1931 Hank was one-of-a kind. He transitioned with his family close and his memories dear at 1:33pm on Friday, October 9th at Zilber Hospice in Wauwatosa. Throughout his last days Hank provided his family with laughs, final gifts & classic moments. Hank was a Golden Gloves boxer whose body was made up of tiger meat wrapped into his 84 year old skin. He cherished his pro wrestling days at the South Side Armory and enjoyed matches of handball at the Eagles Club. Hank lived his life larger than most and lived exactly the way he wanted by enjoying over 30 years of retirement. Heck ya; retirement from the Milwaukee Metro Sewage District was good to Hank, giving him the opportunity to golf up to 96 rounds a year, hunt and fish, and travel back and forth from his two lake homes in Wisconsin and Florida. He had 84 years of life's experience, invested a small fortune in Post It Notes and had a singing voice like Mario Lanza (at least he thought so). Hank spent his last 26 years with his wife Sandy, hunting and fishing. Hank was a step-father to Sandy's two children; Jean and John and 2 step grandchildren. Hank was married to his first wife Marcia in 1952 till her passing in 1974. They had four children, Jeff, Mickey, Kim and Cindy, not to forget his son and daughter in-laws; Marge, John and Mike. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Henry Barber, first wife Marcia, his brother Rodney, sister Una Mae and son-in-law John. Hank had 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Jon and sister-in-law Liz. His Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, October 14th at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church on 92nd & Capital Drive in Milwaukee. Viewing from 9:30am to 10:45am followed by an 11am Mass of Christian Burial. A special heartfelt thanks to all Hank's caregivers and staff at Zilber Hospice, your care and compassion in our dad's final days were filled with comfort, grace and respect. May God Bless You and give you special graces for your services . In Lieu of flowers please send donations to Zilber Hospice at 1155 N Honey Creek Pkwy, Wauwatosa, WI 53213. "ACT 14 The Final Act." Till we all meet again in Heaven.
