Henrietta Regina Balazo

July 15, 1930 — August 15, 2024

Henrietta R. Balazo, a beacon of faith and joy, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on July 15, 1930, Henrietta was the cherished eldest of 11 children. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Joe Balazo, her parents Leon and Emma (Bronk) Klesmith, her siblings Mary (Sylvester) Ziolkowski, Delores (Lavern) Lorbiecki, Helen (Myron) Gierszewski, Dorothy (Robert) Peplinski, Stanley Klesmith, her dear brother Jerry, who passed at the tender age of nine, and her brother-in-law Alvin Gierszewski.

She is survived by her siblings, Carl (Elfriede) Klesmith, Wanda Gierszewski, Edwin (Vicki) Klesmith, and Hubert (Karen) Klesmith and sister-in-law Lucille Klesmith as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Henrietta's passion for travel took her to many wondrous places with Joe, but she held a special fondness for the vibrant culture and warm sun of Jamaica. At home, she was the cornerstone of family gatherings, known for her great sense of humor and easy-going nature. Her witty charm brought laughter to any room, and her skills as a cook made her an exceptional host during the holidays. Henrietta and Joe could often be found fishing on Rolling Stone Lake in Antigo, nurturing the earth in her garden, or taking pride in the beauty of her immaculately kept yard.

A godmother to five, Henrietta's love for her family was boundless. She was a faith-filled member of Divine Mercy, where she found strength and community. Her gentle optimism was a source of inspiration to all who knew her, and her advice was a foundation upon which many built their lives.

For many years, Henrietta was a dedicated employee at Johnson Controls, where she was respected for her commitment and hard work until the day of her retirement. After retiring, she found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life.

As we bid farewell to Henrietta, we celebrate her remarkable life on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at DIVINE MERCY PARISH (800 S Marquette Ave., South Milwaukee) from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Cudahy.

Family would like to thank Harbour Village for 5 years of compassion to Henrietta and Amedisys Hospice for walking her through her final chapter.
