Helen was the founder/creator of Ann’s pizza in Hales Corners. Through the restaurant she made many lifelong friends and fans of her Sicilian /Italian specialties. She was a wonderful baker with impeccable timing as we often arrived to freshly baked cookies and pies. Our family gatherings never really got started until mom/grandma arrived, she lit up the room with her smile. Her love of people led her to become a realtor, she embraced the visions of her clients which gave her much happiness. Helen worked for the United States Postal Service and starting as a LSM operator, she became a supervisor and then a Manager or District Operations in Milwaukee. Helen enjoyed gardening, choosing perfect roses to grow. She was a reader, her happy place was always in a library or book store. She accumulated hundreds of books and would share them along with her recommendations with her children who inherited her love of reading. Helen told great stories, loved life and her family dearly, she had a incredible sense of humor, in sometimes we knew not to make eye contact as it would be inappropriate to burst into laughter at that exact moment. Oh, the fun we had when we were with her. We will miss her for the rest of our lives.
Special heartfelt thanks to St. Mary’s pastoral minister Mary Kelliher who prayed with Helen and brought her the Eucharist. The staff of Heritage Memory Care of Muskego for the exceptional care given to Helen.
