Gregory P. Holtz, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away at his home in Oak Creek, WI on October 14, 2023. Born on December 17, 1953, in Redwing, MN, he was a man known for his generosity, thoughtfulness, and love for his family and friends.
Gregory, or Greg as he was fondly called, was a proud graduate of Pulaski High School in 1971. He had an industrious spirit and a strong work ethic, which he demonstrated throughout his 42-year career at Oilgear. His dedication and commitment to his work were admired by his colleagues and friends alike.
Married to his beloved wife Gail for 51 years, Greg was a family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was a proud father to his children Heather Hernandez (Joaquin), Amber Gaulke, Lance Holtz (Jayme), and Nathan Holtz (Alice). His love for his family extended to his grandchildren Brandon (Miranda), Hannah, Makenzie, Ethan, William, Myka, Evelyn, Parker, Greysen, Wyatt, and Sadie, who will remember their grandfather as a source of wisdom, warmth, and fun. Greg was also a caring brother to Melissa Mark (Brad), and his absence will be deeply felt by his family and all who knew him.
As an active member of the Grobschmidt Senior Center in South Milwaukee, Greg contributed significantly to his community. His passion for sports was evident in his 32 years of playing softball and his love for volleyball, racquetball, and golf. He also coached youth softball for the Cub Scouts, instilling a love for the game in the next generation. Greg's love for the outdoors was equally evident in his fondness for gardening, particularly growing tomatoes, which he immensely enjoyed.
Greg's life was marked by a generosity of spirit that endeared him to many. His thoughtfulness was evident in his relationships, and his love for his family and friends was the cornerstone of his life. His generosity extended beyond his immediate circle, touching the lives of many in his community. Those who knew him will remember him as a man who lived his life with kindness, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
Greg will be remembered as a dedicated family man, and a friend to many. His passing leaves a void that will be hard to fill, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Greenridge Chapel (4747 S. 60th St., Greenfield) on Friday October 20th starting at 10AM until time of service at 1PM. Burial to follow at Good Hope Cemetery.
