Further survived by nieces, nephews, in-laws, and many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Guadalupe and Jose Montoto.

Gregorio was born on November 17, 1945 in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He came to Milwaukee when he was 13 with his family and attended Riverside East High School, graduating in 1964. He served in the US Army from 1965 to 1967. When he returned to Milwaukee he married his wife, Carol, and attended UWM through the G.I. Bill, earning a Bachelor’s and a Masters degree. He worked for the Spanish Speaking Outreach Institute at UWM, now known as the Roberto Hernandez Center.

Gregorio was a long-time entrepreneur, businessman and dedicated volunteer of many organizations benefitting the Hispanic community, especially the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation and Mexican Fiesta. Greg, his parents, and siblings were owners/operators of El Camino Real Restaurants for 20 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was so proud of his daughters and his 5 grandchildren, and loved to spoil them. He and Carol were lucky to have time to travel in retirement, including trips to Europe, Asia, Mexico, and South America. Additionally his golf trips with his friends and family were an important part of his life.

He always cared for his friends. Jesus said, “As you did it to one of the least of these, my brothers, you did it to me.” Greg did many good deeds in his life. His family and friends will miss him greatly.
