Gordon John Hofschulte "Gordy" was born February 14, 1951 to Carl Joseph Hofschulte and Adele Catherine Hofschulte (nee Bales). He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 29th, 2019 at the age of 68. Gordy graduated from Marquette University High School in 1969 and went on to earn a degree in business from St. Mary’s College in Winona, MN, where he was a member and eventually president of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. During college, Gordy met the love of his life, Mary. Gordy and Mary (nee Lentz) were married on April Fools Day in 1978 and together raised Eric (Jenni) and Anne (Joe) Schmidt. After 28 years of running C.J. Hofschulte Roofing / Airport Building Supply, Gordy returned to school to become a real estate appraiser and opened G.J. Hofschulte Appraisal, which took him to his retirement. Being a grandpa was Gordy’s greatest joy and he will be greatly missed by grandchildren Reiley, Lachlan, Teresa, Caleb, Grace, Naomi and Anya. Gordy looked forward each year to a deer hunting trip with a tight knit group of college friends and his son. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carl (MaryAnn) Hofschulte. Gordy is also survived by sisters, Sr. Adele Hofschulte, SSND and Sharon (Robert) Zoellner, brothers-in-law Charles Lentz (Jacqueline), Brian Lentz, John Lentz (Mary Kay), sister-in-law Pat Holler (Jeff), nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
