Gloria Ruth Symicek

May 2, 1949 — September 5, 2024

Gloria Ruth Symicek, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on May 2, 1949, in Milwaukee, Gloria was a devoted wife, a cherished sister, and an adored aunt. Her spirit and dedication to her family and community left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her.

Gloria's journey began in the heart of Milwaukee, where she was raised and later graduated from Cudahy High School in 1967. Her educational endeavors laid the groundwork for what would become a lifetime of commitment and hard work. Gloria's professional life was marked by nearly 50 years of dedicated service, split between two mainstays of the Milwaukee industrial scene: Stern's Magnetics and Milwaukee Cylinder. Her colleagues at both establishments knew her as a steadfast and reliable presence, someone who brought not only her skills but also her heart to every task she undertook.

At the core of Gloria's world was her family. She shared a beautiful and enduring love story with her husband of 45 years, Gary Symicek. Together, they created a life filled with shared passions and simple pleasures, including bowling, were they met and Gary joking says that he picked Gloria up in an Alley and extends to their love for Marquette basketball games, which they attended with zeal. Gloria embraced her role as a sports wife with enthusiasm after meeting Gary, supporting him in every aspect of life.

Gloria's love extended to her family, and she was a beloved sister to Linda (Gary) Dunn and Arlene (Greg) Hanson. She also held a special place in the lives of her brothers-in-law, Daniel (Charlotte) Symicek, and Randy “Bushy” (Jean “Buff”) Symicek. Her nieces and nephews; Dan, Kevin, Jonathan, Christina, Kelly, Kristi, Dallas, and Tiffany, were blessed to experience her loving guidance and support. Gloria's presence at family gatherings was always a source of joy and comfort, her selfless nature ensuring that everyone felt cared for and valued.

Those who knew Gloria would describe her as the epitome of love and spirit. Her ability to give of herself generously, to always put others before her own needs, was a testament to her character. Whether it was taking care of her family, cheering loudly from the stands at a basketball game, or contributing her talents to her work, Gloria did it all with an infectious enthusiasm that lifted the spirits of those around her.

As we remember Gloria Ruth Symicek, we celebrate a life lived with passion and kindness. Her legacy is one of love, a reminder to cherish the moments we have with our loved ones, and to approach life with a spirited heart. Gloria's memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the light of her presence always led the way to warmth and compassion.

Gloria's life was one of connection and contribution, leaving a lasting impact on the many lives she touched. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we hold tight to the memories and the love she shared so freely. Gloria Ruth Symicek will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light for her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
