Glenn H. Tietyen, formally of New Berlin, passed peacefully into eternity on November 3, 2022. Glenn was born September 1, 1928. He was the youngest of three sons born to Henry and Lillian Schauer Tietyen. He attended Grant Street elementary school and graduated from Walker Jr/Sr High School in 1945.
At the age of 16 he began working for the Heil Company, giving them over 40 years of service as a crane operator before retiring. He did take a short break from Heil when he was drafted into the Army. He served his country in the Korean War as part of the US Army Signal Corp from 1951-1953.
Glenn was a sports fan. He followed the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers throughout his life. In addition, he had a special love of Nascar and he especially enjoyed following his nephew who was a local dirt track racer.
Glenn was a true craftsman when it came to woodworking and his attention to detail was like non other. He played a vital role in helping build his brother’s home in Muskego and shared his knowledge and skill with the Persick families by helping with many home-improvement projects. His workmanship is visible in so many places in their homes. His hobbies included stamp and coin collecting, gardening, playing cards and listening to music. He especially enjoyed music from the big band era and organ music. He also had a special interest in playing the lottery…always waiting to “win it big!”
Glenn was a simple man that always had a joke or a riddle to share with everyone he met. He will be remembered by everyone for his kind, generous and humble spirit, traits we should all aspire for.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gilbert and first wife Norma Byerly Tietyen and second wife Luella Christiansen Tietyen; brother Lester and wife Edith Byerly Tietyen; infant nephew Gene Tietyen; niece Jeanette Tietyen Traber; nephew Gerald H Tietyen; and special long- time companion Angeline Persick.
