Celebrating The Life of Glenda Mae Ransby Glenda Mae Ransby was born Glenda Mae Bevan on May, 05, 1936 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. As a young woman, her adventurous spirit motivated her to take a leap of faith and leave her native country to star a new life in America. In 1955, she met the love of her life Horace Jack Ransby in Detroit Michigan at his father's business “The Cellar Door”. Later to be married in August of 1960. As a supportive wife and loving mother, Glenda continued her world travels overseas, as a member of the Peace Corp while Horace pursued a medical degree attending the University Leuven, Belgium. In 1967, they returned to the states and moved to Atlanta, GA. Two years later they relocated to Milwaukee, WI. It was in Milwaukee where Glenda dedicated more than fifteen years of her life as the Bokkeeper for Northcott Head Start before retiring. In addition, she co-founded HJR Investors, Inc. where she served the community for more than 20 years as property owner and manager, helping to provide quality affordable housing in the 1st Aldermanic District Glenda was known for her infectious loving attitude. It was that bubbly personality that developed long-lasting positive relationships with everyone she came in contact with. Her love for people especially children was evident in everything she became a part of. It was her motto, “You're Only A Stranger Once!”. Glenda leves to cherish her memory, her children: Bradley Bevan, Lettice Pinel, Jaclynne Lopez (Edwin Lopez Jr.), and Timothy Ransby; grandchildren: Jazmine, Jordan, Jessica, Myrisha, Shakir, Ja'Kari, Lyanna, Tatianna, Ja'Lani, and Ja'Nai; great-grandchildren: Jeremy and Jaxson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation being held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Oklahoma Chapel (1515 W. Oklahoma Ave., Milwaukee) on Thursday, April 15 starting at 10AM until time of service at 12 Noon. Burial will be at Southern Wisconsin Memorial Veteran Cemetery at 2PM. If you wish to join the family, please meet in the parking lot of the cemetery by 1:55PM.
