Gladys L. La Haye, was born January 23, 1920 and passed on April 20th, 2020 at the age of 100. She is survived by three sons and a daughter, namely the late Tom, Phil, Al and Jim, as well as Deb Cline and five grandchildren: Andrew La Haye, Dan La Haye, Christine Rebmann, Jami La Haye, and Tayla La Haye. There are also four great grandchildren, Oliver, Madison, Avery and Kellan. Though Gladys was born into a farming family of four boys and a girl in Marathon County, in central WI, Gladys led an unusually adventurous life. In 1942 she married Bob La Haye of Stevens Point, a career Army officer, who took Gladys and the family to such exotic locations as Guam in the Marianas Islands, Japan, Germany and numerous locations in the U.S. Gladys was always hard at work as the mother of four boys and a girl, but she always enjoyed what she might call “gallivanting” around in numerous countries and states, celebrating the journey of life, always with a smile and a “tall cool one!” She was always eager to talk about her great adventures, the wonderful people she met, and the beautiful places she visited. We celebrate her life and the great memories of the family adventures.
