Gladys Ann Bluemel Profile Photo

Bluemel, Gladys Ann (Nee Luettgen) age 83, of Waterford, found eternal peace in her sleep on March 18, 2015. She joined her husband, James Bluemel Sr., who preceded her last year. They shared 58 years of a wonderful marriage. Gladys was an amazing wife, mother and mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother, and sister. She was a devout Christian, a mentor for many, a businesswoman, a friend, a leader, but mostly an angel sent from heaven. Gladys is survived by her children, Dave and Pat Bluemel, Gary and Nancy Bluemel, Jim, Jr. and Sandy Bluemel, Susie and Chuck Schuyler, Sandy and Orlando Pajarola, Mike and Lori Bluemel, 35 grand and great-grandchildren, as well as her brother, Jerry and Joan Luettgen. In April of 1955 Jim and Gladys were married. Jim was a true entrepreneur and together they started Bluemel's Tree & Landscaping Service that very same year out of their backyard. The family got started shortly thereafter. While raising six children, Gladys enjoyed managing multiple things concurrently in life. The business grew slowly and flourished with time. Jim was the personality and outside face of the business while Gladys added the financial wisdom behind the scenes. During the buildup of the business, Gladys also played a key role in setting up the first Jaycettes in Greenfield. In 1962 Gladys started her 43 year career with the Boy and Girl Scouts. In addition, Gladys played many roles in St Claire's church. Her primary joy in life though was her family, where she was the rock and backbone. Gladys was a diehard Packer fan, she loved to travel, read, sew, and play golf. Visitation will be held on March 28, at ST. CLARE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7616 Fritz St., Wind Lake, from 9-10:45AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer's prevention research would be tremendously appreciated. Gladys never complained in her life, never raised her voice, and she always had a smile on her face. That warmth in her heart and the smile on her face will never be forgotten. The angels have taken you home. And a spark of your shine remains in our hearts.
