Geraldine D. Schneider

November 17, 1925 — June 8, 2010

Schneider, Geraldine D. Of West Allis, a long-time resident of Candy Cane Lane, died the 8th of June 2010, age 84 years, (the same day as her mother's passing) at Library Square Retirement Community. Born in 1925 to Isadore "Poppy" and Rose "Nanny" (Nee Lewandowski) Borzynski, Geraldine grew up on the south side of Milwaukee, where she enjoyed roller skating and bowling. In 1943, Geri graduated from South Division High School (with perfect attendance) with training in stenography. During high school, she worked at the Mars Kandy Kitchen and at her father's Windlake Auto Body Shop. Geri was employed at the Heil Company during World War II in the Payroll Department and later retired from the West Allis Orthopedic Clinic. In 1954, she was united in marriage to her husband, Kenneth, whom she met bowling. Mom's interests were varied...from stretching the family dollar by clipping coupons (and if there was a coupon for this obituary, she would have clipped it), meticulously recording family events and milestones in her daughters' lives, feeding the "birdies", to her love of God and the Catholic church. In retirement, she enjoyed time with her family and travel. Geri is survived by her husband Kenneth; daughters Susan Knull, Elaine (John) Unger and Janelle Luther. Proud grandma of Christy Hennegan, Julie Knull, James Knull, Alex Unger and the late Justin Luther. Great-grandma of Harmony, Gavin and Elius. Further survived by her sister Diane Dehmer (Marvin Edmunds); nieces Linda Lilly (Bill Patterson) and Laurene (Frank) Noa. Geri was a long-time member of St. Matthias Parish in Milwaukee and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthias Tuition Angels. Visitation Monday, June 14, 2010, 4-5:45 PM at ST. MATTHIAS CHURCH (9306 W. Beloit Rd.) with Funeral Mass at 6 PM. Interment Tuesday 1 PM at St. Adalbert Cemetery. PLEASE MEET AT MAIN GATE, 3801 S. 6th St.
