Gerald Gene "Jerry" Popp

Popp, Gerald Gene "Jerry" Was born on February 26, 1942 and passed away peacefully on March 12, 2018 at the age of 76. Jerry was a 1960 graduate of Bay View High School where he met his lifelong bestfriend/wife, Barbara (nee Hennington). They married in 1963 and raised their 4 loving children on the south side of Milwaukee: Vincent (Kim) Popp; Jerilyn Budney (Mike Owsianny); Daryl (Dawn) Popp; and Kelly Sue (Greg) Harrison. Proud Papa of Maggie Popp, Max Popp, and Alexis Harrison. Brother-in-law and Officiant Rev. Bruce M. Hennington. Further survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, many loved relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Ruth Popp; sister Patricia (the late Jerry) Doucette; special friends "like brothers" John Evers and Tom Piorier. Jerry proudly served as a Milwaukee Fire Fighter for 30 years. The Popp family would like to extend a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Aurora Burlington and Aurora St. Luke's Medical Centers who provided the loving and compassionate care that extended his life many years. A Memorial Gathering will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Mission Hills Chapel on Saturday, March 24 starting at 9:30AM until the time of Jerry's Memorial Service at 11:30AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to MFD Fund "Ignite the Spirit" in Milwaukee.
