Gerald Douglas Essex

Essex, Gerald D. "Jerry" Passed peacefully on March 18, 15 at age 73. Jerry was born on January 11, 1942 in Stevens Point, WI the son of John and Helen Essex. He is lovingly survived by his wife Christine Rombalski, they married on May 8, 1965. Beloved father of Gail (Dale) Berkshire and Darrin (Kimberly) Essex. Proud grandfather of Connor, Mason, Steven and Jonathan. Dear brother of Phyllis Felhofer. He is preceded in death by his siblings Mary (Rhody) Heinen, James Essex, Joan Braatz and Anthony Essex. Jerry retired from Charter Wire in 2001 after 39 years of dedicated work. He loved his family especially his wife, children and grandchildren. His hobbies included playing horse-shoes, picking blackberries, mushrooms and black walnuts. He was an avid gardener, baker, chef and often smoked his own meats. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at St. Paul Church (1720 E. Norwich Ave) from 10 AM 11:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 PM. Entombment will be private at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the church.
